December Blog Topics!

We've made it to December! Can you believe how quickly this year is passing us by?

  • Now that you have your report cards, reflect on your accomplishments this term. What new goals do you now have?
  • The Olympic Winter Games are coming soon to Vancouver, Canada! Any early predictions? Will you be watching? Check out this awesome link about the Olympics!
  • Let's give back. 7C will be visiting the Agincourt Community Service centre in December to package + box food for the needy families in the SAM community. What are your thoughts on empathy?
How would you finish these sentences? Put the sentence in your blog title and then continue your thought in the body of your blog message.
  1. If I could be doing anything right now, I'd be. . .
  2. If I was Prime Minister of Canada...
  3. It makes me blush when. . .

And so ends another term...

Can you believe how fast Term 1 flew by? It's shocking, really.

FYI -- report cards go home with students on Monday November 30th. Parent / Teacher interviews will be conducted on Thursday (pm) and Friday (am) of next week.

Did you meet your goals for term 1? What are your new goals for term 2? What was your biggest learning experience so far at SAM? Your greatest accomplishment?

Trip to see 'New Moon'...

On November 24th, ALL of the grade 7 classes went to the STC to see 'New Moon' (the 2nd book in the 'Twilight' series).

so... what did you think?

Was the book better than the movie? What did you think of the actors protraying the main characters? Did they live up to your expectations?

Blog about it.

    What do you think?

    So long to 7x...

7x is going through a wee bit of a change. SAM was able to hire another 0.5 teacher and so 7B will now have their very own CORE class!!! We will miss the 7 students (Shanglin, Haley, Nora, Umeko, Rohan, Jenny, and Hiral) from 7B that made up the 7C+7B=7X group and we wish them luck with their new teacher.

So... what do you think of the change? Try to see the positives... I know it can be hard sometimes when we go through changes but it will benefit everyone. The Grade 7 classes will be smaller ;)

    Blog about it.

    October Blogging Topics

    Congratulations on starting your blog!

Each month, you will be responsible for creating two blog posts on a variety of different topics. I will be posting possible topics to choose from; however, if there is something else you wish to blog about -- go right ahead! Each month, you will also be responsible for commenting on at least two other people's blogs (after all, reading blogs is as important as writing them). Keep in mind, you can always read and write more often :)

Posts should be between 200-400 words long and yes, spelling counts.

    1. September's theme at TDSB schools is Respect. Give your definition of respect along with examples
of when you've shown and been shown respect. Are there certain groups of people to whom you show more respect than others? What are some ways in which you could be more respectful?

    2. "How many people do something they really believe in? I
just wish people would realize that anything's possible if
you try. Dreams are made if people try." - Terry Fox
What are your dreams for your future?

    3. Check out this article. Phobias -- do you have one? Explain!
